ChatGPT web distribution#
This ZIP declares remote MCP. ChatGPT marks imported MCP plugins Desktop only, even when the server uses HTTPS. See OpenAI’s import restriction. Importing it successfully does not enable its MCP connection on web.
For public web use without each user registering a server URL, the publisher must upload the MCP-and-skills ZIP in the OpenAI submission portal, connect and verify the MCP domain, complete scans and review, then publish after approval. Users can then find the published listing and authenticate their own Exeora account. This download does not represent an approved public listing.
References to an owner’s privately registered apps do not make those connections available to public users. Public submission currently disallows app-reference packages. Manual custom MCP connections remain an individual testing option, not the public distribution path.

Install the complete plugin#
- Download the ZIP and extract it into a folder you will keep, such as
exeora-plugin. - With Codex installed, register that folder as a local plugin source using the command below. Use its actual path if you extracted it elsewhere.
- Restart the ChatGPT desktop app. Open the Plugins Directory, select the Exeora source and install Exeora. Complete the Exeora sign-in and choose the projects it can access.
- Run the plugin's setup workflow, or ask: “Help me connect Exeora and choose a project.”
codex plugin marketplace add ./exeora-plugin
The extracted folder contains its own local catalog. Keep that folder in place while the plugin is installed. Local sources require a host with marketplace support and may be restricted by workspace policy. See OpenAI's local installation guide.
What is included#
| Skill | What it helps you do |
|---|---|
| Set up Exeora | Check your connection and choose an authorized project and workspace. |
| Work in an Exeora project | Explore, diagnose, edit and test code where your project runs. |
| Show an Exeora workspace | Open files, diffs and search results beside your conversation when the host supports the Workspace panel. |
Try “Explore my project and explain how it works” or “Show the changes in my workspace.” The skills guide the workflow; the MCP server applies your project's policy and permissions.
Connect your projects#
For projects on your own machine, install the Exeora CLI, keep exeora connect running and add your project with exeora project add /path/to/project. You can also use Exeora Cloud. Installing the plugin does not connect a machine or register projects by itself.
You choose the accessible projects during OAuth consent and can change or revoke access under Clients in the dashboard. A missing project may need an updated grant; an offline machine must reconnect. See troubleshooting for help.
